My Story
My journey started at 15 after a bad experience with a stylist led to hair loss. I didn’t feel safe letting anyone else touch my hair, so I decided to learn how to do it myself. That decision was a game changer. I started experimenting with different styles, which naturally led me to doing hair for others at school and in my community. I remember charging just £20 for a sew-in—my canerows weren’t the best at first, but with practice and experience, they improved. Cutting was always my strength, and I had a natural talent for styling and bringing out people’s beauty.
I knew I wanted to take it further, so I decided to study hair professionally and get my qualifications. At the time, hairdressing wasn’t seen as the ideal career path—it wasn’t something you proudly told your parents you wanted to do. A lot of people told me to pursue something else, but I followed my passion. I’ve always loved beauty—hair, fashion, makeup—I was the go-to person for my friends, and I thrived in that space.
Becoming a hairstylist and building my own business was part of God’s plan for me. What started as a hobby turned into a successful career. Now, with over a decade in the hair industry, I’ve styled thousands of women, sold wigs internationally, inspired others to start their own businesses, and taught many how to master short wig making.
As I step away from the chair, my focus is on creating a space that helps women build confidence, elevate their skills, and create a life and business they truly love.
What advice would I give someone wanting to follow this path?
Believe in yourself more than anything. Prioritise your self-care—don’t neglect your needs. Your business will grow, and success will come, but you can’t pour into others if you’re burnt out. Take care of yourself first, and everything else will follow.

“What I do is more than just hair. Women sit in my chair for a reason, and I’m so grateful that I’ve chosen to use my gift and skills to inspire, uplift, and empower them.”
Love, Selina
